Get ready for a doggone good time at Art Walk this month!

WHAT: First Wednesday Art Walk, Dog Days of Summer (Pet Walk) 

WHERE: Hemming Park and the Downtown Core

WHEN: Wednesday, September 2 | 5-9 p.m. rain or shine 


  • Headquarters @ Hemming Park: Raise the ruff for a pawsitively good time at this month’s Pet Walk. Bring your furry friend to enjoy local art, beer and the sweet sounds of Groove Coalition playing on the main stage. Check out pet-friendly vendors such as Pet Paradise, BARK Boutique and First Coast No More Homeless Pets on Laura Street. Plus, you and your pups can stop by Hemming Café for delicious bites from Humble Pie and tunes from Goliath Flores.
  • 44 Monroe Art Studio & Gallery: Presents owner Jami Childers and award-winning artist Ted Head's pet portrait exhibit. Also, enjoy guest artist John Caesar’s abstract expressionist wall hangings made from exotic and re-purposed wood.
  • Southlight Gallery: Showcases UNF ArtSpace with featured exhibit “Sum Total,” showcasing work by local artists Dee Roberts, Princess Rashid and Overstreet Ducasse. Plus, enjoy live music by Cain’t Never Could on the Hogan Street sidewalk. Water and treats will be available for your pups!
  • The Art Center Cooperative, Inc (Jacksonville Landing): Hosts featured artist Silvia, plus the “Nurture Jury show” on display through September 7.
  • Florida Theatre: Learn about this iconic landmark with backstage tours at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Visit Jacksonville: Learn about Victory Casino Cruises; enjoy samples from Fionn MacCool’s; browse art by Aly Cat, Yes You Canvas and Pam Barnett; enjoy a mini tarot card reading by Dawn with Spiritual Gifts.
  • First Stop Urgent Care: New location - Visit the First Stop Urgent Care table at the corner of Laura and Adams streets for free first aid kits, lip balm and hand sanitizers.
  • Greyhound Package Express Shipping: Presents live music by Upstart Record Pool’s “The Blue Room” and open mic poetry.
Art Walk After Dark:
  • 1904 Music Hall: Soak up local talent with live music by Harvey Drury Hampton, Ema and The Old Kings, Ghost Switch and Gov Club at 8 p.m. At the colorful back patio, enjoy a groovy show by Dialectable Beats at 9 p.m.
  • Burro Bar: Rock out to music by Providence's finest, Gymshorts and Duval's Memphibians at 6 p.m.
  • Downtown Cigar Lounge: Hosts happy hour specials, plus $5 glasses and $20 bottles of house wine.  
  • Hourglass Pub: Presents Art Walk After Dark 8 p.m. until close with karaoke and poker. Plus, enjoy craft beer specials and artwork by Ronie Cabalerro.

PARKING: Free street parking after 6 p.m. The Downtown Garage at Adams and Clay streets offers free, covered parking Art Walk night, courtesy of Elite Parking. (Enter on Clay Street.)  Or park and then ride the Skyway, now running until 9:30 p.m. Art Walk nights.
