Father’s Day is this weekend, and if you’re still figuring out what to do for your dad, look no further! #DTJax has so much to offer for the wide variety of sporty, artsy or chocolate lovin’ dads out there:
For the sports fan:
Buy your dad some baseball tickets and take the whole family down to the ballpark, grab a hotdog and cheer on the Jacksonville Suns. For football fans, treat your dad to Jacksonville Sharks tickets, or buy your tickets early for an upcoming Jacksonville Jaguars game (season tickets on sale now, too!).
For the artistic dad:
Take your dad out to explore the fine arts of MOCA Jacksonville. Or check out local art galleries and studios like Southlight Gallery, The Art Center and 44 Monroe, where you can take art classes or even buy work from local artists as a Father’s Day gift!
For the trendsetter:
For the fashionable dads out there, consider AJ Reese Clothiers for a nice suit and accessories, or get him a timeless watch from Jacobs Jewelers or Hemming Plaza Jewelers. For the laid-back dads, check out Sports Mania for sportswear and game-day gear.
For the chocolate lover:
From chocolate-covered popcorn and candy baskets to candy-making classes, treat your dad to some sweets from Peterbrooke or Sweet Pete’s!
Cover your dad’s bar tab at Dos Gatos or The Volstead (check out our Nightlife Directory for more bars Downtown), or buy him tickets to the Symphony, Ritz Theatre & Lavilla Museum or Florida Theatre for concerts or shows.
For the foodie:
Gift cards make great presents, too – especially when it’s for food! Give your dad a gift card or treat him out somewhere at one of Downtown’s delicious dining spots. From fine dining at Ruth’s Chris to casual good eats at Burrito Gallery, check out our list of dining locations.
So if you’re looking for a gift that’s meaningful and memorable, or if you want to take your dad out on his special day, #DTJax has it all! Check out downtownjacksonville.org for even more ideas and events.
