#DTJax is in Luck: St. Patrick’s Day Events to Celebrate

If you’re looking for a little luck this St. Patrick’s Day, #DTJax is the place to be. Irish or not, come out and celebrate the month of March with St. Patrick’s Day events and more.


St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans:

Kick off the celebration at “Shamrockin’ Downtown” First Wednesday Art Walk on March 4. You’re all in luck, because with Irish brews, bagpipes, music performances, a sneak preview of the new upcoming Jacksonville Zoo exhibit and much more, March’s Art Walk will be nothing less than a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. If you can’t wait until St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate, be sure to check out Mavericks at the Landing’s Pre-St. Patty’s Bash on March 13 featuring drink specials, live music, a green bikini contest and prizes. For more information, visit



Bring your furry friends as Yappy Hour returns to The Jacksonville Landing on March 15 for the Yappy Hour Paw-ty of Gold with a fun-filled day featuring live music by Radio 80 from 2-6 p.m., a tail-waggin’ contest, a smile contest, prizes, pet expo and more.” For more information go to

  • Every Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.: Whiskey Wednesdays with live music by Spade McQuade.
  • March 7 at 8 p.m.: Live music by Paddy Wagon.
  • March 13 at 8 p.m.: Live music by Searson.
  • March 15 at 6 p.m.: Live music by Seven Nations.
  • March 16 at 6 p.m.: Live music by Rathkeltair and Paddy Wagon.

The HourGlass Pub is starting the party early at 1 p.m. on March 17 with live performances by Jig to a Milestone, Prideless and 9 p.m, Crossroad Magic and other magical acts throughout the day. There will also be green beer, traditional Irish cocktails and Irish foods to keep you in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit.



Looking for new dance moves in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day? Rhythm of the Dance will be at The Florida Theatre on March 18 at 8 p.m. This two-hour dance and music extravaganza contains an abundance of Irish talent. There are plenty of other events happening in #DTJax this month, if guzzling the green beer isn’t your thing. This month:

  • A new market for vintage and quality goods in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville, Vagabond Flea takes place every first Saturday of the month in Hemming Park from 9 a.m to 6 p.m. This market features local artists, collectors, food and of course, Vagabond Coffee Co. See you March 7 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Voted one of Rolling Stone’s 100 most Iconic musicians, Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Member Elvis Costello will perform some of his biggest hit songs at the Florida Theatre on March 14 at 8 p.m.
  • Elton John and his band return to the Veterans Memorial Arena on March 14 as part of the “All The Hits” tour, featuring iconic hits and classic album tracks from throughout his incredible five-decade career.
  •  The Art Center Cooperative, Inc. will host a month-long juried art show with the opening reception on March 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. which will feature artwork that portrays creatures, treasures and the mysteries that lie under the sea by various visual artists.
  • GastroFest will be in Hemming Park on March 21 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. celebrating Jacksonville’s culinary scene with tastes, talks, films and workshops all day. For more information and tickets, visit
  • Grease Rags Clothing Co. hosts a variety of events this March. Be sure to check out the Perfect Pinup Class with Cherry Dollface on March 22 from 12-3 p.m, where you will learn how to do a full pinup face of makeup and two full vintage hair styles, plus many more events on
