Halloween in #DTJax

This time of year is always so busy with one holiday after another, but I’m most excited for anything remotely Halloween-themed, which is just around the corner (plot twist: it’s next Wednesday)!

Put on your costume and get ready for a haunting Halloween Downtown! Whether it’s walking with the dead, singing along to a Halloween classic, surviving the night, or trick or treating on the street, there’s something worth sinking your teeth into. Check out the top nine ways to celebrate Halloween in #DTJax

Halloween Celebration at Riverside Arts Market | 715 Riverside Avenue

When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Celebrate Halloween with the Riverside Arts Market artists, makers and farmers! Dress in your favorite costume and bring the kids down for Trick or Treating and hands-on activities. Vote on your favorite decorated booth; enjoy live music, local arts, local produce and much more! Details.

 

The Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Florida Theatre | 128 E. Forsyth St.

When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.

Starring Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is considered one of the most popular cult movies of all time. Wear your costumes, bring your props and come early for the live music. Details.

 

The TreeHOUSE at Myth Nightclub | 333 E. Bay St. 

When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Enjoy a special Halloween edition of this monthly showcase featuring the regions best House, Tech House and good vibe sounds including a $500 costume contest and more! Details.

 

Union Arts District Haunted House | 700 E. Union St.

When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 7-11 p.m.

Join Union Arts District for a night of fun and frights. Several art studios open their doors to visitors (both alive and not). Don’t miss the fun! Details.

 

Halloween at Hemming | 135 W. Monroe St. 

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Join Friends of Hemming this Halloween during Trick or Treat on the Street at Hemming plaza! There will be music, a food truck, costume contests and much more fun for the whole family! Be sure to stop by their tent for tricks and treats and to snap a picture with a surprise mascot! Details.

 

Halloween Spooky Lau at Dos Gatos | 123 E. Forsyth St.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.

Dos Gatos Presents – The First Annual Halloween Spooky Lau! Enjoy live music by DJs Nick Puzo and Paten Locke, BBQ by Mojo #4, cocktails, beer and spirits! This is a 21+ event. Details.

 

 

 

 

 

PURGE – Official Halloween Party at Myth Nightclub | 333 E. Bay St.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Visit Myth Nightclub for the official Halloween Party in Downtown! Presented by Social Academy, enjoy live music, contests and drink specials. Details.

 

Spookeasy Halloween Party at The Volstead | 115 W. Adams St.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.

The Volstead’s Spookeasy has risen from the dead for a haunted outing. Featuring music by DJ Mas Appeal, Dos Vatos Tacos, a photo booth, themed cocktails and more. Details.

 

 

Trick or Treat on the Street | Downtown Jacksonville

When: Wednesday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Grab your costumed coworkers or dress up the kids and come out for a ghoulishly good time trick-or-treating your way through the streets of #DTJax from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with food trucks, live music, games and a costume contest at Hemming Park until 3 p.m. Details.
