Jax2025 video shares emotional call to action for Jacksonville revitalization

“This is the sound of thought, the movement of tomorrow, where that big-little city becomes what you make it….”

These are the words of local poet Al Letson in a powerful new video released this week by Jax2025, an organization working to create and implement a vision for Jacksonville by the year 2025. The video features Letson, host of NPR’s State of the Re:Union, delivering in scenes across Downtown and Jacksonville’s urban neighborhoods, a compelling message that the revitalization of our city is in our hands:

A Downtown Marketing Collaborative survey revealed 91% of 4,000 Jacksonville residents believe Downtown is important to the economic growth of Jacksonville as a whole. Downtown is also a source of community identity, culture and pride, the health of which depends on the vibrancy of the businesses, work force and quality of life Downtown.

A strong Downtown has the power to make Jacksonville shine. Make a difference for Downtown – make your thoughts heard today. Don’t delay – the survey closes this Friday, Jan. 11.
