It’s almost Memorial Day Weekend in #DTJax. Here are some ways to celebrate your holiday weekend in #DTJax!


Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall:

Jacksonville is home to the nation’s second-largest Veterans memorial wall. This year, the City of Jacksonville will be hosting Memorial Day Observance at the #DTJax Veterans Memorial Wall. There will be music by the Navy Band SE that will begin at 8 a.m. After that, the ceremony will start at 8:30 a.m. Head on over to 1145 East Adams Street on Monday to honor and celebrate local Veterans.

 

A Memorial Concert & Picnic Presented by Vystar Credit Union:

On Monday night, head on over to Memorial Park at 6:30 p.m. for a free concert by the Navy Band SE. Make sure to bring your folding chairs and picnic blankets!

 

Jacksonville Naval Memorial Statue:

This memorial statue is located on the Southbank of the St. John’s River on the Riverwalk. The statue celebrates the relationship between Jacksonville and the United States Navy. In addition to your Memorial Day Weekend plans, make sure to stop by the historic statue.

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival:

The annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival returns to #DTJax May 26 – May 29. The festival is free to attend and will be happening all around #DTJax. Check this community-wide event for great food, drinks and music!

 

The MOSH (Museum of Science & History) One-Day, Fun-Day Discovery Camp:

Are you looking for Memorial Day plans for your kids? On Monday, current kindergarten through fifth-grade students can join the MOSH for an exciting Summer Blast Off one-day camp! From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., campers will experience an exciting day of crafts and experiments. Register ahead of time on the MOSH website. Also, all Veterans, Military Personnel, and their families will receive discounted general admission using a valid ID on Memorial Day!

 

Riverside Arts Market:

You can never go wrong with spending your Saturday at the Riverside Arts Market. Shop from local artists and vendors from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
