Art Walk is back, and better than ever! October’s First Wednesday Art Walk was a smashing hit and we are so happy that so many of you came out to #DTJax to help make it such a successful evening. We’re still in awe of how great of a night it was and want to share some of our favorite moments. Scroll below to read some highlights and view some photos from the night!
Highlights from First Wednesday Art Walk:
James Weldon Johnson Park: James Weldon Johnson Park was the spot to be during First Wednesday Art Walk! Featuring live music by The Fire Tent Revival at the Main Stage, food trucks (Vucca, Best Burgers, Happy Grilled Cheese and Fusion) and over two dozen artists, the James Weldon Johnson Park Beer Garden was bustling like the good old days of First Wednesday Art Walk!
The Jessie: The Jessie Ball duPont Center’s programming consisted of an exhibit in the Corner Gallery from Moving the Margins: Artist in Residence, poetry readings from JaxbyJax Literary Arts, double dutch with Jump4Jax, and food trucks 904gyros and KraVegan! Plus, several specialty vendors and artists that were set up in the building’s lobby!
Vystar Breezeway, featuring Vagabond Flea:Â A new art hub for First Wednesday Art Walk, the Vystar Breezeway featuring Vagabond Flea made its First Wednesday Art Walk debut at October’s Art Walk. There was live-music performed by Bethany LaRoche, several Vagabond Flea vendors, cocktails from Estrella Cocina and Bread and Burger was serving up their specialty burgers and fries!
October 6th’s Art Walk was one for the books! Thank you so much to our many #DTJax participating businesses, people who came out to #DTJax and Art Walk vendors and artists! Mark your calendars, and please join us at the next First Wednesday Art Walk on November 3rd!
