The wait is over because Summer is here! A time for relaxation but also wanting our kids to stay active and engaged. Here is a list of a few summer camps that are going on in the Downtown Jacksonville area.
Dance
Jacksonville Center of the Arts- Dance Camp
Jacksonville Center of the Arts welcomes young dancers of all ages and skill levels to their Sizzling Summer Dance Conservatory. Dance training will mainly focus on ballet skills instructed by professional dancers to ultimately strengthen the dancer’s abilities for cross training in other dance styles.
When: June 10 – 28
Where: Jacksonville Center of the Arts, 521 West Ashley Street #12
Cost: Registration fee $50 and Camp Tuition $200/ weekly

The Florida Ballet- Summer Programs
Calling all young dancers! The Florida Ballet is offering Summer dance programs to dancers looking to strengthen their ballet skills. Daily classes will also be offered such as: pointe and contemporary within the two-week intensive. Programs vary depending on age and skill level.
Note: Dancers may have to audition for some programs.

Culinary Arts
Peterbrooke Chocolatier- Chocolatier Day Camp
Peterbrooke has a camp for all chocolate lovers. Chocolatier Day Camp not only allows campers to eat delicious chocolate treats but also learn about the process of making chocolate. Peterbrooke offers a lot of family fun with a sweet twist!
If you don’t live in the Downtown area, Camp Peterbrooke is offered in various locations.
When: Monday-Friday, June 3- August 2
Where: Downtown Location, 100 West Bay Street
Cost: $40-$60 per child

Visual Arts/Music
Friday Musicale- Music & Art Camp
Friday Musicale’s Music & Art Camp allows campers to experience a wide variety of arts throughout the week including dance, theatre, choir, culinary, and drumming. Kids will be divided into different groups to participate in all of the arts throughout the week. Ending with a Camp Showcase on the last day for family and friends!
When: July 8- 12
Where: Friday Musicale, 645 Oak Street
Cost: $225 per camper

Take your jazz skills to the next level! Friday Musicale offers a 3 day Jazz Camp led by professional instructors, where campers learn about everything that has to do with jazz.

Does your child like to paint or draw? Well, MOCA’s Summer Art Camp allows your child to express them in the visual arts. Each week young artists will be exposed to printmaking, ceramics, photography and more to enhance their creative skills . Children ages 4-5 will have half- day sessions and ages 8-14 will have full day sessions.
When: June 3- August 2

Interdisciplinary
Lavilla School of the Arts- Summer Programs
Join Lavilla School of the Arts in their action packed summer camp, that also works around parent’s busy summer schedules. Children will be exposed to the arts in weekly programs such as: theatre, art, dance, cooking and more! Weekly activities vary depending on age group; Lavilla also offers a Jr. Counselor program for rising 9th and 10th grades.
When: June 10- July 13
