With the school year coming to an end and summer approaching, summer camp registration is underway! Downtown offers fun ways to entertain your camp-ready kid through science, art and more. Find out where you can send your little happy campers this summer:

Main Library Summer Learning | June, July, August

Ages: Varies | The Jacksonville Main Library is full of library programs, activities and prizes this summer for children, teens and even adults. Every Hero Has a Story, Unmask! and Escape the Ordinary are the themes of this summer’s programs. Summer Learning has magic shows, balloon shows, zoo animal shows, Ronald McDonald, Tree Hill Nature Preserve with JEA shows, arts and crafts, stories and more.

ArtCamp@MOCA | June 8 – August 21

Ages: 4-14 | Grow your child’s creativity at MOCA Jacksonville as experienced art educators provide a variety of art-making activities. Your child will learn about contemporary art and grow a visual vocabulary all while having fun and being creative though this unforgettable full-immersion art experience.

Jacksonville Giants Basketball Summer Camp | June 8-12, June 15-19, August 3-7

Ages: 5-15 | Kids can train like a pro this summer with the Jacksonville Giants! Campers will be in an air-conditioned gym to escape the summer heat. Basketball camp features tournaments, contests, t-shirts and more.

LaVilla School of the Arts Summer Camp | June 15 – July 24

Ages: Varies | Have fun this summer at LaVilla School of the Arts! They offer classes in a variety of cool activities for beginning and experienced campers. Basic Camps are offered in visual arts, dance, drama, “Top Chef” science, comics, historical re-enactment, guitar, piano and percussion. Specialty Camps include Storytellers Camp, which is available for campers ages 3-4, Explorers Camp is for ages 5-6, and Jr. Counselors Camp is available for rising 9th and 10th graders. Intensive Film Camp is available for ages 10-14. Camps are available in week and entire-summer durations.

MOSH’s Summer Discovery Camp | June 15 – August 14

Ages: K-8th grade | Campers can experience a new adventure each while learning through hands-on activities and free time to explore the museum exhibits, including the summer blockbuster exhibit, Dinosaurs Unearthed at MOSH. With a variety of camps to join, some camps will feature special guest speakers, and Space Camps will culminate with a trip to the Kennedy Space Center!

Jacksonville Sharks Youth Football Camp | June 27

Ages: 6-16 | Open to boys and girls, your kids can learn the fundamentals of football from Sharks players and coaches.

Jacksonville Suns Baseball Camp | July 9 and 10

Ages: 7-12 | Kids can learn about hitting, throwing, fielding and pitching from the Future Miami Marlins. Each camper will receive two days of instruction on every aspect of the game, a commemorative Suns cap, lunch on both days and tickets to a Suns game with a special on-field recognition.

Sweet Pete’s Candy Classes | Classes Vary

Ages: Varies | Make your summer sweet! Sweet Pete’s offers a variety of candy classes from Toddler Time to Hand Pulled Lollipop Classes, there are classes for all ages – even for parents in Sweet Pete’s Candy and Cocktails Class.
