Join The Jaxson’s Ennis Davis, Bill Delaney and Mike Field for a two hour tour of the Cathedral District, the oldest remaining walkable neighborhood in Jacksonville’s Urban Core. Located in the Downtown Northbank between Ocean Street and Hogans Creek, the Cathedral District’s history dates back to the original founding of the city. Once a center for Jacksonville’s early Italian community in the late 19th century, it remains home to some of the city’s most historic churches and sites. Today, it is in the midst of being rediscovered as a walkable live, work and play community in the heart of Downtown.
The narrated tour begins at St. Johns Episcopal Cathedral, located at 256 East Church Street, and visits several historic, adaptive reuse and infill construction sites throughout the neighborhood. In addition, a few churches are opening their doors to give our attendees a unique look at the incredible architecture of these historic sacred spaces.
Street parking is free on Saturdays. Tickets are $25; kids 12 and under are free. Please wear a facemask and practice social distancing.
