In the early 1900s, Jacksonville was the “World’s Winter Film Capital”, attracting more than 30 film studios and producing serving as the location for more than 800 silent films. While the chaos and disruption of early-industry film production was too much for Jacksonville’s citizens, this moment in our city’s time is iconic and unique. Travel back in time with us to the early days of film, with glitz, glamour and elegance.
