Seeking roots? RSVP today for this upcoming program on genealogy research and how it plays a part in history. Carol Clay, president of the Southern Genealogists’ Exchange Society, will share how SGES has played a vital role in the history of Jacksonville as part of a Blue Ribbon Commission on Cemeteries in 2007. And, during this Bicentennial year, she will discuss a research request about a notable Jaxson or two.
She will also showcase some old maps, and share the history of the 58-year-old family research nonprofit, and will talk about their more than 6,000 books, periodicals, and magazines, as well as a collection of maps, family histories, and over 100,000 obituaries from Jacksonville and the surrounding regions.
Social Hour and Book Signing: 6-7 p.m.
Presentation: 7-8 p.m.
Only events occurring within Downtown Jacksonville will be accepted.
