- Established in Jacksonville in 1870, the Grand Lodge has been headquartered since 1912 in its imposing downtown Masonic Temple, at 410 Broad Street, a historic edifice that is rich in the stories of leading Black citizens of this city and of Florida.
- As a special commemoration of Black History Month, this program will be presented by Jerry Urso, a past master and the grand historian for The Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Fraternity, Free and Accepted Masons, State of Florida and Belize, Central America, Jurisdiction, Incorporated Prince Hall Affiliated. A native of Massachusetts, he holds a master’s degree in history from Trinity College, and comes from a long line of Masons.
