Open Studios JAX ART STUDIOS at Monroe – Their Last Hurrah Fundraiser.

Unfortunately, our landlord has given us notice at our Monroe Studios.  We have put a deposit on a new location on Market Street near our Adams Street location. The upgrades still need to be completed at Market to make move-in possible, so the artists of JAX ART STUDIOS will soon be displaced until they can find a new location or until our new studio location on Market Street is complete.  The JAX ART STUDIOs represent some of our best-known local artists and, more importantly, a wonderfully diverse creative group.  As a non-profit, we would have loved to provide studios until the completion of our new location. Unfortunately, with the new location investment, funding additional space would only be possible with private funding.

The Monroe Studios folks will be celebrating diversity with an abundance of rainbows, and artists will talk about their experiences within the LGBT+ community as well as the trials of those who have immigrated to the United States and how it has affected their art practice.  This group of artists all have stories worth listening to, and we will miss their creativity and vision.
