About

Please join us for the limited-time return of our online screening series MOCA Movie Night!

Please join us for the limited-time return of our online screening series MOCA Movie Night in conjunction with our upcoming exhibition Neither I, Nor Time, Nor History by artist Jeremy Dean. This series includes an exclusive line-up of three analogous independent films. Offering titles from acclaimed artists Jeremy Dean, Glenn Kaino, and Gillian Laub; this series traces the fight for racial equity, particularly in the South, and explores the connection between ignorance and innocence as it relates to the Civil Rights movement.

Dare Not Walk Alone is about the civil rights movement and its aftermath in St. Augustine, Florida, the site of prolonged interracial tension and protests by the NAACP and the SCLC. The most notable protests, including the Monson Motor Lodge swimming pool integration immediately preceded, and arguably precipitated, the signing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Only events occurring within Downtown Jacksonville will be accepted.
