Learn more about the Jacksonville-based stand-up comedians below:
Mike Freed is a clean observational comic who counts as his influences Demetri Martin, Steven Wright, Mitch Hedberg and Jerry Seinfeld. He performs regularly at the Comedy Zone in Jacksonville, Florida and at other clubs and venues nationally. Mike is a Jacksonville transplant from Washington D.C. He is a father of five who became a comedian after rising to a level of success as both an attorney and an ultra-marathoner – mostly running to raise money for charity. In other words, Mike has a short attention span. His material is largely self-deprecating and draws on the trials and tribulations of being a little bald guy in a big person world and his role as a father, husband, lawyer and a runner. Mike’s material is fresh, regularly updated, sometimes intellectual and sometimes stupid, but always clever. His comedy sets are fast-paced, provocative and engaging. So, they are nothing like this biography.
After seeing a lot of the world in the U.S. Navy, Bob Lauver found a career in the hospitality industry including owning a country night club/restaurant. All these things led him to a comedy stage with plenty to talk about. He is a regular performer at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas and has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, like Louie Anderson, Tom Arnold, Steve-O, John Witherspoon, Bill Bellamy, and many, many more. Making people laugh is what he was meant to do.
A true professional that can entertain everyone from an all ages crowd to a late-night club crowd. He has memorable bits that stay with people and cause laughter long after the show has ended. From stand up to developing a web-based series on his life experiences, Bob stays very busy. Don’t miss him when he comes to your town.
Jenn Weeks is a Florida based comedian/actor/singer. She has performed in numerous comedy shows and clubs, as well as opening for several national, touring comedians, including Bruce Bruce, Mitch Fatel, Pablo Francisco, the late John Witherspoon, Ron Funches, Deon Cole and many more. She is a radio personality on Chris Epps Presents Radio Show (Atlanta). In addition to comedy, she has graced the stage and performed in several theatre productions. Jenn is the official host of the LOL JAX Film Festival and creator of Comedy Cookout Jax. Her high energy, relatable material and stage presence pulls the audience in. Whether it’s corporate or private events, churches or comedy clubs, Jenn is sure to leave a lasting laughable impression.
