First Wednesday Art Walk

The First Wednesday of Each Month from 5-9 p.m. in Downtown Jacksonville

Downtown Vision has proudly hosted the First Wednesday Art Walk since 2003 to welcome people to DTJax and celebrate the community’s deep pool of creative talent.

Art Walk has returned after a break due to the pandemic and now takes place monthly! We invite you to bring your family, friends and coworkers for a self-guided tour of Downtown’s northbank core on the first Wednesday of every month. Explore three major hubs: James Weldon Johnson Park, The Jessie (duPont Center) and Vagabond Flea at The Breezeway at Vystar Tower, and all the businesses and public art between. Art Walk runs 5-9 p.m., rain or shine.

Special thank you to our friends, Friends of James Weldon Johnson Park!

The Jessie

40 E. Adams St.

Each month, the Jessie Ball duPont Center curates an amazing array of local art and performers with a focus on equity and community. Central to the experience is the Corner Gallery, curated by Shawana Brooks. The Jessie is an art gallery in its own right. Learn about the many public art pieces.

August Art Walk Highlights: Performances by Ebonique and DJ Monsta, fun from Jump 4 Jax, and shopping with local vendors. Food Trucks: Souldogs and Doughmeekas Kitchen, and enjoy a performance by the Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS) Kids from 5-7 P.M. Plus, don’t miss a jump rope performance by Jump 4 Jax and the Chalk Art Van. Last chance to check out Moving The Margins exhibition, “Shelter In Place” by artist in residence, Erin Kendrick.

Special thanks to our friends, the duPont Fund!

The Breezeway at Vystar Tower + The Vagabond Flea

100 W. Bay St.

Nestled in VyStar Credit Union’s headquarters lies one of Downtown’s best breezeways. Each month, The Vagabond Flea will be filling the The Breezeway at Vystar Tower with unique artists. Stop by to shop, dine, and drink at The Bread and Board Provisions, and end your evening with a cocktail on the Estrella Cocina rooftop.

August Art Walk Highlight: The Breezeway will not have programming during August Art Walk as it undergoes a new mural installation. Bread and Burger will also be closed during this time.

Special thanks to our friends at VyStar Credit Union, Vagabond Coffee Co. and The Bread and Board!
